The Third Annual Pivotal Publications Colloquium
University of Connecticut - Storrs
September 19, 2008
9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Student Union Building
The University of Connecticut Division of Student Affairs and the Graduate Program for Higher Education and Student Affairs invite you to be a part of the Third Annual Pivotal Publications Colloquium. The Pivotal Publications Colloquium is designed to encourage dialogue about a significant publication that had a lasting effect on student affairs practice. The Rights and Responsibilities of the Modern University (Robert D. Bickel and Peter F. Lake, 1999) will be the subject of this year’s Colloquium.
The co-author of The Rights and Responsibilities of the Modern University, Peter Lake, the Charles A. Dana Chair and Director of the Center for Higher Education Law and Policy at Stetson University College of Law, will be our featured speaker.
As an alternative to reading the Pivotal Publication here is an article by Peter Lake, which he has suggested would make a good summary reading.
Mr. Lake’s talk will begin at 10 am, and will be followed by lunch and a panel with several practitioners whose work has been influenced by this important book.
Thank you for your interest in attending the Colloquium.
